The Ellen Theatre Bozeman

The Ellen Theatre Bozeman is an event space known for live performances like plays and concerts, as well as other performances and private events. First opened in 1919 when the town of Bozeman boasted just 6000 residents, some of their recent events include Fiddler on the Roof, famed comedian Paula Poundstone, and an upcoming performance by acclaimed guitarist Luca Stricagnoli.

The Ellen Theatre is also notable for its history. “Designed by renowned architect Fred Willson,” reads the Theatre’s website, “The Ellen was built by the sons of Nelson Story, a founding father of Bozeman, and named for the family matriarch. That’s certainly quite a present for Mom.” It was also a local favorite during the age of vaudeville. While the mighty Theatre entertained locals and tourists for decades, it has recently been in the process of a massive remodeling effort that spared no expense.

Whatever kind of music you like or entertainment you enjoy, it’s worth the trip to the Ellen Theatre for its beautiful architecture and historical significance.

Like the Rialto Bozeman, the Ellen Theatre Bozeman is also available as a private event space. Visit their website for more information, including pricing, tickets, and a full event calendar.
